Kandi Burruss Opens Up About Not Losing Weight With Wegovy [Video]

Oprah Winfrey, Tracey Morgan and Sheryl Underwood are just a few of the celebrities who have raved about how semaglutides like Wegovy and Ozempic have helped them in their weight loss journeys.

But singer and Real Housewives of Atlanta alumna Kandi Burruss is one star who did not have the same success. In fact, she recently opened up on PageSix’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast about her experience with the medication and the negative impact the results had on her mental health.

“Last year, I tried it,” she said in the interview. “I saw so many people who were trying it and losing weight. So I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to try this.’ And I didn’t lose any weight.”

Burruss said the medication – created for Type II diabetes patients to help the user lose weight by reducing their appetite — didn’t curb her cravings at all, which surprised her friends and her doctor.
