It’s a ‘Downward Dog’ kind of day at the HSBH Puppy Yoga event | Lifestyle [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. – If you drove past the Humane Society of the Black Hills on Sunday in Rapid City, you might have seen a lot of “downward dog” poses — literally.

The shelter held its annual Puppy Yoga event in the yard. The purpose of the event is to give the puppies some exposure to people and vice versa.

Over two dozen attendees participated, enjoying the playful energy of about six pups running around. The event was free and open to all ages, though donations were gladly accepted.

“This is one of our biggest events that’s not specifically for fundraising, but we do get some donations at this event, which is great,” said Cassie Sloan, Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator at HSBH.

“It’s free, but people love to bring donations. It’s helpful to us to bring food and monetary donations. It’s just really helpful.”
