I have cancer, Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy says during live trivia match [Video]

Barstool Sports founder and owner Dave Portnoy revealed that he had cancer Wednesday night during Barstool Sports’ latest edition of “The Dozens Trivia,” Awful Announcing reported.

“I have cancer by the way,” Portnoy, who was wearing a bandage on his neck, abruptly mentioned during the live-streamed episode.

“A lot of pressure. This is all that matters. We’ve been waiting for all season,” the 47-year-old said about the trivia matchup as his team “Ziti” was introduced.

“I’m sorry to hear that,” host Jeff D. Lowe said, appearing stunned.

“That sounds like a big deal,” Portnoy’s teammate, Eddie Farrer, said.

“It is a big deal,” Portnoy replied.

The Swampscott native later clarified his situation on X saying, “I did have cancer. I beat it. It wasn’t the serious kind thank god.”
