Hundreds attend walk, carnival to support a camp for kids with cancer [Video]

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Hundreds attended the Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island’s annual SunriseWALKS & Family Carnival at the Henry Kaufman Campgrounds located on Manor Road in Sea View.

The event this week benefited the Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island, a free camp for children with cancer, and their siblings.

Before the walk began, walkers enjoyed performances by the JCC’s Richmond Terrace Cornerstone Dance Team and LA Dance.

The walk was led by students in the JCC’s Early Childhood Education Center and this year’s Sunrise Day Camp Ambassadors, the Morgan family, followed by hundreds of Sunrise supporters.
