How Erie is Helping Leo Fight Cancer – Erie News Now [Video]

Leo Bennett is a husband, father, and grandfather. He was born and raised in Erie. He served in the Army before working his entire career at a printing company. Now, he’s working to beat cancer again. Lymphoma.

This fundraiser was at St. John’s Parish Center in Erie Saturday. So many people filled the gym there. They had food, auctions and raffles. Local businesses donated many items. 

The money raised from the fundraiser will go back to Leo to help cover the costs of his medical treatment.

Organizer and family friend Valerie Sickles said she wanted to help him however she could.

“Leo is a type of guy that’s helped his community. He’s been a basketball coach, he’s a great father, a great grandfather,” said organizer Valerie Sickles.

“We just wanted to help him out as we can.”
