HammondCare names Andrew Thorburn successor to CEO Mike Baird [Video]

Andrew Thorburn, the former CEO of National Australia Bank and the Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed the next CEO of Not For Profit health and aged care provider HammondCare, replacing Mike Baird AO at the beginning of June.

HammondCare Board Chair Kok Kong Chan said Andrew’s extensive business and leadership experience would help HammondCare, which operates home care, residential care, respite care, healthcare, retirement living, palliative care, dementia support and pastoral care from 91 locations, respond to both the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“This appointment positions HammondCare well for the sweeping changes underway in the care of older Australians following the Royal Commission, Covid and far-reaching regulatory and compliance reform,” he said.

“Aged care is a complex business with great opportunities in the years ahead for HammondCare to help even more people through its Mission to improve the quality of life for people in need.”
