Si King made his first public appearance since the death of his Hairy Bikers co-star, Dave Myers, cooking a feast for a large crowd at Birmingham’s NEC during the Good Food Show Summer event.
The pair, famous for their BBC travel and cooking programmes where they toured on motorcycles, had been a double act for nearly 20 years. However, fans were devastated to learn Myers sadly died aged 66 following a battle with cancer back in February.
Joined on stage by Italian chef Gennaro Contaldo, TV presenter Chris Bavin and recipe book author Chris Baber, King put on a brave face as he signed copies of their book. Referencing the book, The Hairy Bikers’ Ultimate Comfort Food, he said of their young fans: “Great to see all ages enjoying the book! #fastandfresh.”
