Gov. Evers declares state of emergency after June storms [Video]

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – On Friday, Gov. Evers declared a state of emergency throughout the state of Wisconsin.

He signed Executive Order #232 after strong storms produced damaging tornadoes, high winds and flooding throughout the state.

“Communities across our state have been affected by the impacts of severe weather in recent days, including storms and flooding, that have endangered the lives and livelihoods of Wisconsinites across our state,” said Gov. Evers. “We want to make sure folks and communities are safe, healthy, and have the support they need to recover quickly and that can get relief to those impacted.”

The National Weather Service confirmed 10 tornadoes passed through nine counties.

Authorities say some areas saw about five to six inches of rain which led to flooding that is still is still ongoing as of Friday.
