Foundations Pediatric Therapy hosting Kindergarten Readiness Camp [Video]

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – “We offer speech, pediatric therapy and physical therapy,” said Caroline Ledford, Clinical Director for Foundations Pediatric Therapy.

Foundations Pediatric Therapy are now transferring these skills into kindergarten readiness.

Upcoming students spent the day learning numbers and letters and used what they learned in their arts and crafts.

“We’re implementing strategies that therapist used in the clinic to integrate into the school environment,” said Ledford.

They do this by teaching fundamental classroom techniques like raising their hand and practicing good manners.

“Everything we do, we’re trying to incorporate what they would do in a classroom setting,” said Ledford. “Things like asking to go to the restroom. Being respectful amongst each other. Can you share? May I have this? Thank you for letting me have that.”
