Former Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek honored with Forever stamp by USPS [Video]

The United States Postal Service (USPS) will be honoring former “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek with a Forever stamp.

The announcement was made by the current game show host, Ken Jennings, during a “Jeopardy!” episode Thursday evening. The stamp will be issued concurrent with the show’s 60th Diamond Celebration, that was launched earlier this year “to celebrate the remarkable legacy of American’s Favorite Quiz Shower,” the statement reads.

The stamp’s purpose is to commemorate Trebek who hosted “Jeopardy!” for 37 seasons, before he died from pancreatic cancer in November of 2020.

He began hosting the show in 1984 and was considered an iconic figure throughout his tenure.

In March 2019, the 80-year-old host had announced that he had Stage IV pancreatic cancer.

The grid of the stamps resembles the array of video monitors that form the “Jeopardy!” game board, the postal service said.
