At the beginning of last year, long-serving broadcaster Esther Rantzen was diagnosed with lung cancer. Sadly, in May 2023 she revealed the disease had progressed to stage four.
On Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, ITV viewers saw a pre-recorded interview with Susanna Reid and Esther, which took place over the phone. During their chat, the host wanted to get an update on her health.
When asked about how she is, Dame Esther replied: “Well, I’m on one of these new drugs. It’s not a permanent cure, but it does seem to delay things so, fingers crossed”
Susanna praised her new medication as extraordinary, to which Esther agreed. The 82-year-old added: “I mean one never knows, I live from scan to scan if you see what I mean.
