8 Investigates has obtained documents from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services alleging abuse of residents at the Capitol City Manor assisted living facility in Augusta, including mental, verbal and physical abuse.We first reported last week that the facility had submitted notice to the state that it planned to voluntarily close.Over the weekend, 8 Investigates spoke with the family of someone who lived at the facility and claimed their loved one had been the subject of neglect. They said he wasn’t provided with certain services that the family expected him to receive, and he wasn’t shaved or bathed or given certain medication.Monday, Chad Cloutier, the CEO of DLTC Healthcare and Bella Point, which runs several assisted living facilities, including Capitol City Manor, called the allegations “categorically untrue.”Cloutier said the voluntary closure was due to financial issues and not from allegations of neglect.Documents obtained Tuesday by 8 Investigates from …
