DJ Kygo Helps Dog Named Kygo with Terminal Cancer [Video]

After learning a dog named Kygo has terminal cancer, Kygo the DJ — who the canine was named after — the musician made an effort to bring joy to the pet’s final days.

The 7-year-old canine (a “big fluffy mutt,” per his Instagram) garnered attention earlier this month after The Dogist, an account run by photographer Elias Weiss Friedman, shared his story; the post revealed that Kygo has terminal cancer and “doesn’t have much longer.”

“He has osteosarcoma – we’ve been doing radiation treatment around his eye. It spread to his lungs, and now he has pneumonia, too,” his owner, Ashley McClain, said in Friedman’s June 2 Instagram post about the pup, which garnered over 14,000 messages of support.

“I’m getting him out every day into the fresh air, trying to make him as happy as possible,” she said, adding that the “only other thing I have left” is for the mutt to meet the musician he was named after.
