Disabled Pennsylvanians, support agencies push for budget boost [Video]

It took Rachel Brewer five years — from the time she graduated Cumberland Valley High School in 2019 until just recently — to finally get the support she needs to live the life she wants.

“I’ve been much happier,” said Brewer, who lives with autism and ADHD. She previously had few ways of getting out of the house, where she lives with her disabled mother. Now, with the help of an aide, she’s much more independent — including being able to visit the state Capitol on Wednesday.
