Denis Villeneuve’s Incendies Getting A Limited 4K Release [Video]

Before Blade Runner 2049 and the Dune films Denis Villeneuve gave us Incendies. In August, 101 Films will re-release the film in August with a  4K UHD limited edition part of  101 Films Black Label Title 038.

The film just came prior to his lauded thrillers Sicario, Enemy and Prisoners. Adapted by the director himself with Valérie Beaugrand-Champagne from Wajdi Mouawad’s play, Incendies is partly based on the life of communist militant Souha Bechara and set amongst the backdrop of an unnamed Middle Eastern conflict.

Incendies was critically acclaimed upon its release with critics praising the film’s performances, emotional impact, and its devastating depiction of the senseless and futile nature of hatred and religious conflict. The acclaim the film received culminated in nominations for Best Foreign Language film at the Academy Awards and the BAFTAs.
