Cutting out Cancer Program at Shelton State Community offers free haircuts and more to cancer survivors [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Cutting out cancer was the theme Tuesday at Shelton State Community College in the cosmetology division. It’s a nationwide awareness program for people who have survived cancer.

Former cancer patients came to get a free haircut, free manicure and pedicure but what they got in return was much more.

In room 2110 at Shelton State Community College, Etta Lee says she was treated like a queen.

“It makes me feel good, makes my body feel relaxed.”

Etta Lee is a cancer survivor of nine years. She recalls going through tough days of radiation and chemo therapy.

“Not so tense like it used to be,” she says.

People like Morgan Windham made sure cancer survivors like Lee got the full treatment; a free haircut, free manicure and pedicure.
