Coroner identifies teens killed at Lake Hartwell [Video]

A South Carolina coroner’s office released the names of two high school students who died after deputies said they jumped into Lake Hartwell over the weekend.The Pickens County Coroner’s Office identified the two teens as Rayan Alnasser, 16, of Clemson, and Zakaria Chaar, 15, of Central.A cause of death was still under investigation, officials said, as an autopsy was scheduled for a later date.Officials had previously said both were sophomores at D.W. Daniel High School in Central.The bodies of the two Daniel High School students were pulled from Lake Hartwell Monday morning, according to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.Officials said the bodies were found near one another in about 15 feet of water.The search began about 10:30 p.m. Saturday after someone called 911 and said they could not find their friends in the area of Pike Road and Old Jewell Bridge Road.Officials said the boys were among a large group …
