Chicago woman missing in Bahamas after traveling there for yoga retreat [Video]

(CNN) – The family of a Chicago woman is pleading for the public’s help after she disappeared while traveling in the Bahamas.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force says 41-year-old Taylor Casey was last seen on June 19 around Paradise Island, a small resort area on the shore of New Providence.

Casey traveled to the Bahamas for a yoga retreat.

A missing person flyer released by police did not have any details of the possible circumstances of her disappearance.

Her family is reaching out to the public, saying they’re deeply concerned for Casey’s well-being.

They’re asking anyone with information to please call the police in the Bahamas.

In January, the U.S. State Department issued a travel advisory for Americans headed to the popular tourist destination because of violent crime.

Officials noted the majority of crime occurs on the islands of Grand Bahama and New Providence – the island where Casey was reported missing.
