Chicago, IL: Lung Cancer Education & Awareness Community Conversation [Video]

On Saturday, May 18, we hosted the community conversation program focused on lung cancer, including Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC). The program aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of lung cancer, from diagnosis to treatment, and emphasized the importance of patient advocacy and support.

A courageous lung cancer survivor shared her journey of diagnosis, treatment, and living with the disease. Participants gained valuable insights into the challenges, triumphs, and lessons learned.

The program highlighted the crucial role of patient navigators in helping individuals and families navigate the healthcare system, access resources, and make informed decisions throughout their treatment.

Experts discussed the significance of clinical trials in advancing treatment options and the benefits of participating in them. They also addressed the crucial role of tobacco cessation in lung cancer prevention and treatment, providing practical strategies and resources for quitting smoking and supporting tobacco cessation efforts within the community.
