When Irene Taylor signed on to direct a documentary on Céline Dion‘s monumental career, she had no idea the songstress had been privately battling a rare, life-altering illness. Neither did Dion.
It wasn’t until half way through filming I Am: Céline Dion that the 56-year-old received an affirmative diagnosis, with doctors confirming the debilitating symptoms she had been experiencing on-off for 17 years were signs of Stiff Person Syndrome.
And with that, everything, as Dion and Taylor knew it, had officially changed.
