Care clinics offered across Genesee County Saturday | [Video]

Men could receive a blood pressure check for free, and everyone could receive free dental care.

GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT)- Health care and health education was on offer Saturday.

At the Flint Public Library, men attended a health event hosted by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated.

Attendees heard from a Prostate Cancer survivor about the disease and how to prevent it and The Greater Flint Black Nurses Association offered blood pressure checks.

“We want men to know their health is important. We know that prostate cancer, and in the black community specifically, is one of the top killers. So we wanted to let men know to either get their prostate checks or exams. And really, just to go to the doctor,” said organizer Kimberly Robbins.

Meanwhile, others took advantage of the “Smiles on the House” event, run by the Dental Care Team in Grand Blanc.
