LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A car show on Sunday in Louisville will benefit a local hero.

Heroes and Hot Rods Car Show will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at Mike Linnig’s Restaurant on Cane Run Road. The event will benefit Louisville Metro Police Foundation and LMPD officer Nick Wilt.

Wilt was one of the first officers to respond to the Old National Bank shooting on April 10, his fourth-ever shift with LMPD. He was shot in the head and rushed to UofL Hospital for brain surgery. Wilt was in critical condition for weeks and battled pneumonia.

On Sunday, the car show will have children’s activities, bounce houses and bourbon raffles.
