Cancer book collection revealed at Manheim Twp. Public Library [Video]

“Cancer is something that affects many families these days, so we’re excited for this opportunity,” said Rennae Newman, grant writer and fundraiser for Manheim Township Public Library. 

The collection includes cookbooks, children’s books, self-help books, and more. Officials from the Ann B. Barshinger Institute, along with their patients, hand-selected each book in the collection.

“It can help individuals throughout their journey, even those who are not currently struggling,” said Newman. 

She mentioned that it’s common for people to use the internet to find information about cancer, some of which may not be accurate or helpful. The library not only provides this information for free, but it also offers firsthand experiences from many of the authors.
