A child in Bryan died Thursday after being struck by lightning, according to a GoFundMe account started for the child’s family.

According to the GoFundMe, Quinece Richards was struck by lightning Thursday afternoon during a rainstorm in Bryan. The page said that Quinece’s father, Quinard Richards, was enjoying the afternoon with his family when the storm blew through. Quinece’s age is not available.

At the time of publication, GoFundMe had reached $4,460 of its $10,000 goal to support the family’s funeral and memorial services. The plans for the funeral are currently pending, according to the post.
