Boston Mountain Rural Health Center hosts open house for new Lead Hill, Ark., community health center [Video]

LEAD HILL, Ark. (KY3) – Boston Mountain Rural Health Center (BMRHC) celebrated the opening of the Claude Parrish Community Health Center in Lead Hill.

“I moved here in the fourth grade, grew up here, graduated here. Yeah, I lived just up the road from here,” says Abigail Peerce, APRN for Boston Mountain Rural Health.

Abigail Peerce is now serving the community she calls home.

“Having a clinic here and continuing care—it’s what we do at rural health communities—provides care to people who don’t have access to care. And this is a large area that needs access to care,” says Peerce.

In December 2023, North Arkansas Regional Medical Center announced it would close the clinic in Lead Hill.

“What really convinced me that Lead Hill really needs some health care is that I attended a community meeting,” says Debbie Ackerson, the CEO of Boston Mountain Rural Health.
