Blood cancer survivors honored at annual Partners in Hope Reunion [Video]

CINCINNATI (WXIX) -Many blood cancer survivors were honored on Friday night at the Savannah Center in West Chester for the annual Partners in Hope Reunion presented by Jewish Hospital and Mercy Health.

Doctors, nurses, cancer survivors and their families, and donors gathered to hear some of the emotional stories told by the survivors.

A blood cancer survivor met her donor that night.

“I got one more day, and then I got one more day, and then I got a whole bunch of days because of you, and I’m going to have a whole lot more because of your sacrifice. You are just awesome,” one survivor said.

Another survivor, Nakul Gupta, expressed gratitude to his selfless donor.

“Cancer was always something that you heard happen to other people. I didn’t think it would happen to me,” Gupta said.

After successfully overcoming cancer, he participated in the Flying Pig half marathon.
