Bikes and Brews helping battle congenital heart disease [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On Saturday, the community came together in a big way to battle against congenital heart disease.

Bikes and Brews, a 10k family ride took place on the Sioux Falls bike trail.

The event was organized by a group called Cure for Cora, which is a family that is working to find a cure for their young daughter.

All proceeds from the ride went to Heartworks, an organization that aims to help treat more patients with CHD.

“Cora has a congenital heart defect. She only has half of a heart. It means the world, it means a longer life. It means a more active life for her. She’s had two open heart surgeries and she’ll need a third one. A lot of these kiddo’s hearts just kind of give out. So this is hope. Heartworks is finding a cure,” said Cora’s dad Anthony Millar.
