Big Pharma warms to hVIVO human challenge clinical trials [Video]

hVIVO plc, a specialist in testing infectious and respiratory disease products using human challenge clinical trials, has reported a 16% increase in revenue for 2023 to £56m.

The company, listed on AIM in London and Euronext in Dublin and led by chairman Cathal Friel, has reported 44% improvement in Ebitda to £13m, and ended the year with cash and cash equivalents of £37m.

Adjusted basic earnings per share came in at 1.27p, and a 0.2p per share dividend is being paid.

The company said the fit out of its new facility at Canary Wharf in London is ahead of schedule, and the unit is on track to commence its first quarantine in April 2024.

The Canary Wharf expansion will add a containment level three (CL-3) laboratory and will increase hVIVO quarantine capacity to 50 beds, establishing this facility as the world’s largest commercial human challenge trial unit.
