Bham church hosting health and wellness fair to connect community to free screenings, resources [Video]

MIDFIELD, Ala. (WBRC) – Faith Church in Midfield is hosting a health and wellness fair to allow community members to take charge of their well-being. Organizers say the fair is designed to specifically address the most pressing health concerns in their community, such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.

The day will include free health screenings, referrals, Naloxone training, Stop the Bleed training, CPR instruction, mental health resources, and more. Over 20 vendors will be at the event to provide information and services, including voter registration help and a farmers market co-sponsored by The Leaf and the Community Food Bank. UAB’s CORD program will have information on free summer camps for 6th-9th grade. LifeSouth will also offer $20 gift certificates for blood donations and $40 gift cards for platelet donations.

The fair is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
