LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Anchorage Middletown Fire Department is rallying around one of their own, and you can help too.

Maxson Shuster, the son of Fire Captain Beau Shuster, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in 2023, a form of brain tumor. Since then, he has been undergoing radiation and chemotherapy at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Maxson gets to come home in the next few weeks but has a long and hard road ahead of him.

The Anchorage Middletown Fire Department is hosting a fundraiser for him and his family Wednesday night at the Texas Roadhouse on Shelbyville Road in Middletown

Ten-percent of the proceeds will go to the Shuster family. The fundraiser applies for dine-in and carry out.

You can follow along Maxson’s journey through their Facebook page, Thumbs Up for Team Max, and if you can’t come to the fundraiser, you can donate to them here.
