Activists join Gov. Mills for reproductive rights rally [Video]

On June 24, 2022, the United States Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. The Dobb’s decision ended the legal right to an abortion. Now, two years later, that move is still a point of contention. Activists for reproductive rights rallied in Portland’s Monument Square Monday morning to recognize that historic ruling and call for action. Governor Janet Mills; Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross; Destie Hohman Sprague, of Maine Women’s Lobby; and Cassie, a patient storyteller, spoke at the National Day of Action rally.Aimee Christian is a mother who attended the rally to support reproductive rights for her daughter. “She has to have all the rights and freedoms that I have always enjoyed,” she said.Bonnie Argeropolos is a mother, too.
