Tucked away in a quiet corner of Chester is a place for people who sometimes have trouble fitting in.

But then, another member — another Kimberly — came up and started her on the first tentative steps toward something better.

It started with talking, and soon flowered into something more.

The other Kimberly’s friendship persuaded Bevins to start participating in the various tasks that Chester House members undertake to keep their unusual miniature community going: working in the kitchen preparing a daily lunch, running the business office, and handling a range of chores from watering plants, to running a snack bar, to picking up trash.
