988 Lifeline Provides Crucial Support During Pride Month [Video]

June is Pride Month, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community’s vibrancy and resilience. Recognizing the unique mental health challenges they face, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has introduced the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. This initiative offers 24/7 access to specialized crisis counselors via text, call, or chat. LGBTQ+ youth can text “Pride” to 988, call 988, and select option 3, or use the chat feature at 988lifeline.org for inclusive, compassionate support. This mental health approach was specifically designed for LGBTQ+ youth.
