ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Runners in the community took part in a 5K this weekend to raise money for pancreatic cancer and honor the woman who inspired the event.
Polly’s Run, the biggest fundraiser for this type of cancer in the state, honored 15 years since the passing of Polly Rogers. She was a mother of three who died from the cancer in 2009.

Organizers of the event say pancreatic cancer remains one of the most aggressive cancers affecting New Mexicans.
The funds raised during Saturday’s benefit the Polly Roger’s Pancreatic Cancer Research Endowment at UNM.
